Introduction to Civil 3D for Infrastructure & Engineering Professionals
Over the past two weeks, we hosted a focused workshop designed to introduce engineers and designers to Autodesk Civil 3D — one of the most powerful tools for infrastructure planning and civil engineering design. Whether you're completely new to the software or looking to strengthen your foundation, this session was built to provide clarity and hands-on guidance.
The workshop began with a comprehensive overview of Civil 3D, exploring its interface, essential tools, and how it fits within the broader Engineering and Infrastructure (Infra) landscape. Key topics included:
- Terrain modeling and surface creation
- Alignment and corridor design
Introduction to Civil 3D for networks and infrastructure design
- Integrating Civil 3D with BIM
One of the core objectives of this workshop was to highlight the integration of BIM with Civil 3D workflows. Participants learned how Civil 3D data can be shared within BIM platforms, enhancing collaboration and data consistency across all stages of a project.
